The
Year 2002 marked the one-hundredth birthday for Walt Disney and the Busy
Bee Band & Honeybees found itself once again in Orlando to help
celebrate "100 Years of Magic". On Saturday, April 13th,
the group performed in the Main Street, USA Parade in the Magic Kingdom.
The parade route cut through the heart of Disney as it began near the
famed castle and ended at the train station. Spectators lined the
entire route for the short parade. Also
during their stay in Orlando, the students visited EPCOT and MGM
Studios. Before departing, the group made one last stop for lunch at
Planet Hollywood. The trip marked the 9th performance for the Busy
Bee Band & Honeybees at Disney World since the first trip in
1973. The last time the group had visited Disney was for the 25th
anniversary celebration in Disney World. The band also performed at
Disneyland in California in early January, 2000.
