Follies 2008

On April 3, 2008, the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees opened Follies 2008 to a sold-out audience at the East Fairmont High School Auditorium. Follies 2008 marked the 36th Annual Production of spring tradition . The show started with the band playing the opening fanfare from "That's Entertainment" followed by "There's No Business Like Show Business" and "Comedy Tonight." The Honeybees were then featured during "Riffin' the Blues." The Opening Overture ended with a reprise of "Comedy Tonight" and "Everything's Coming Up Roses."

The group then performed a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of NASA by showing images of triumphs in space exploration during the Michael W. Smith selection "Freedom." The band then paid tribut to The Tijuana Brass by playing "Spanish Flea," "Whipped Cream," "The Lonely Bull" and "Tijuana Taxi." Highlights from "Mission Impossible," "Titanic," "The Hunt For The Red October" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" were next as the band presented Movie Blockbusters.

The Honeybees were next featured as the group celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the release of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." The Honeybees danced to "Billie Jean," "Thriller" and "Beat It" and featured Lauren Shaffer in the lead role. The band next performed classic rock anthems, including Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," Boston's "More Than A Feeling" and Europe's "Final Countdown." Scenes from some classic Western movies were next as the group performed the themes from "Maginicient Seven" and "Hang 'Em High." The first half of the show closed with the Honeybees presenting their traditional kickline to "Lullaby of Broadway" and "Fly Me To The Moon."

The curtain reopened to the band taking over the Auditorium by parading down the aisles and out on the stage to perform "Swingin' Chariots" to honor the band's award-winning performance at the 54th Azalea Festival Parade. The Honeybees joined the band for field show highlights which included "Can You Feel It," "Disco Gold," "Turn the Beat Around," "Who Loves You Pretty Baby" and "Flashdance (What A Feeling)."

The band returned to their traditional setting to perform "Tropical Winds." The music was accompanied by photos of the band's recent trip to Nassau, Bahamas aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship Fascination. The Honeybees then took the stage to the Tina Turner classic "Proud Mary."

The seniors of the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees were acknowledged during the playing of "Broadway Razzle Dazzle." Seniors of the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees are Alisha Bunner, Ryan Bunner, Lindsay Davisson, Josh Delaney, Michael Delligatti, Jeremy Ervin, Zach Foley, Lauralea Griffith, Mia Halpenny, Traci Hardesty, Ryan Heiskell, Sevgi Kuzava, Sarah Laudrille, Rachel Linn, Eric Lopez, Stephen Martinez, Brooke Miller, Hannah Minney, Daniel Orsini, Tyler Park, Emily Potesta, Jonna Potoczny, Allison Riddle, Evan Roberts, Tyler Rodriguez, Rebecca Rush, Devon Russell, Samantha Scott, Lauren Shaffer, Shelby Shaffer, Fred Shelton, Mallory Shuck, Abbey Sinisi, Justin Stanley, Kayla Stevens, Allison Stine, Matt Talerico, Tyler Vincent, Jordan Wean, Amy Wills, Heather Wilson and Michlle Wimer.

Follies 2007 then closed with "That's Entertainment " and the traditional presentation of the "Busy Bee Band Bouquet" by Queen Bee Lauren Shaffer.
