On April 7, 2011, the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees opened Follies 2011 at the East Fairmont High School Auditorium. Over 4-nights, the group performed for over 3,000 people. Follies 2011 marked the 38th Annual Production of spring tradition . The show started with the band playing the opening fanfare from "That's Entertainment" and a special guest appears from Stage Left. Kermit the Frog entertained the crowd and introduced new band director, Mr. TJ Bean, before the band continued the show with "Bright Lights on Broadway." The Honeybees were then featured during "All I Need Is A Miracle" and "Power Lines."
The band then performed a James Swearingen piece entitled "Brookpark Overture " followed by the music of John Williams , which included "The Mission Theme" from NBC Nightly News, "The Imperial March," "Star Wars" and "Cantina Band" from the original Star Wars Trilogy, "Olympic Spirit," "Theme from Jaws" and "Theme from E.T." The Honeybees were then again featured in a recall of the 1920's Ziegfield Follies to the music of George Gershwin's "Embraceable You" followed by "Come Fly With Me." The Busy Bee Band Percussion Section was featured in John Higgins' stirring march "Esprit" followed by Taylor Swift hits "Picture to Burn," "White Horse" and "Love Story." The first half came to a close with the traditional Honeybee kickline to "42nd Street" and "New York, New York."
Act Two began by telling the story of how Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi came together to form the Four Seasons as the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees played music from the 2006 Tony Award Winning Jersey Boys. Band members Brendan Kunce, Evan Michael, Tim Morris and Ory Vangilder were backed up by senior band and Honeybee members as they sang some of the Four Seasons greatest hits: "Sherry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," "Walk Like A Man" and "Who Loves You." The group then performed the newly written and arranged Alma Mater of Pierpont Technical and Community College entitled "Pierpont Pride." The music for the piece was written by Alan Kirsh, Kenneth Kirsh and Kristy Kirsh with the arrangement by past Busy Bee Band director, Earl W. McConnell. The band then paid tribute to the music of George Harrison with "Here Comes The Sun," "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." The Honeybees were then featured during music from the 1994 Disney animated film The Lion King. The group then paid tribute to America and the many men and women in uniform during "Within These Hallowed Halls," "America the Beautiful," "God Bless the USA" and "Armed Forces Salute." The Honeybees then took the stage one last time for highlights from the 2010 Field Show Season, including "Showtime," "Johnny B. Goode," "I Gotta Feeling" and "Free Ride."
The seniors of the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees were acknowledged during the playing of "Broadway Razzle Dazzle." Seniors of the Busy Bee Band & Honeybees are Aaron Baker, Michelle Bowman, Ashley Crandall, Sara Davis, Emily DeVault, Caitlin Friend, Alexa Giordano, Katelin Grdgon, Lauren Hamilton, Jamie Hess, Kaylan Hunt, Kayla Keefover, Katlyn Keezee, Kaylee Kniceley, Lauren Knight, Jessie Knoll, Tim Morris, Emily Stewart, Thomas Taylor, Ory Vangilder and Austin White. Follies 2011 then closed with "That's Entertainment " and the traditional presentation of the "Busy Bee Band Bouquet" by Queen Bee Jessie Knoll.
