Program Is Announced for
East Band Musical
The "Busy Bee Band on
Broadway" program will include musical scores from such productions
as "Georgy Girl," "Hair," and "Thoroughly Modern
Millie," announced Earl W. McConnell, director of the Busy Bee Band.
This second annual show band
concert will be Thursday, Saturday and next Monday at 8 p.m. in the school
auditorium.
Skits, characterizations and
dances from famous Broadway musicals will be presented by band members and
the Honeybees.
The first number on the
program is the "Star Spangled Spectacular," music by George M.
Cohan scored for the concert band. Queen Bee Corki Hostutler is
featured.
Medley of Music
In a medley of show music,
last years "Busy Bee Band on Broadway" stars return for a guest
performance. These include "Mame" done by Debbie Wilson,
"Dolly" by Carol Radcliffe and "Gypsy" by Terry Lee
Constable.
The music of Walt Disney's
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is the third number on the
program with Kathy Ryan as "Snow White." "Doc"
will be portrayed by Bill Schleicher, "Happy" by Russell Yann,
"Sleepy" by Bradley Ford, "Grumpy" by Mark Myers,
"Sneezy" by Brian Leonard, "Bashful" by Jeff Hoffman
and "Dopey" by Rickey Cain.
"Thoroughly Modern
Millie" stars Linda Radcliffe as Millie. Chorus Girls include
Janet Kabulski, Beverly Leonard, Mary Ann Vingle, Rosemary Teacoach, Nancy
Myers and Barbara Williams.
Next on the program is one for
the boys, "Damn Yankees." Baseball players include Dave
Nuzum, Dave Born, Lyle Barbee, and John Russell. Jeff Hoffman, Mark
Myers, Pat Schleicher and Russell Yann portray fans. The batboy is
Jim Shahan.
Sharon Sturm stars as "Georgy
Girl," arranged for the band by John Cacavas. Chorus girls for
this number are Janet Kabulski, Beverly Leonard, Nancy Myers, Sally Kisner,
Corki Hostutler, Janet Romino, Allana Everhart, Mary Ann Blocker, Melody
Fox, Kathy Weirbonski, and Sharon Moore.

Assistant Drum Majorette Cathy
Yann directs the "Lullaby of Broadway."
The top Broadway musical of
1970 "Applause," is the final number before intermission.
Sally Kisner plays the part of Lauren Bacall. The Honeybees will
serve as the chorus.
"Hair," the American
tribal love-rock musical, stars Dave Born as Claude. The Tribe
members are Pam Jackson, Kim Satterfield, Michael Woody, Lyle Barbee, Dean
Rodeheaver, Doug Born, Alex Cassuccio, John Russell, Joe Saporito, Jim
Shahan, Lyn Jenkins, Bobbi Schleicher, Diana Plymale, Sharon Moore and
Rosemary Teacoach.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's
"South Pacific" is included on the program of musicals.
"Around the World in 80
Days" nears the end of the program with Janet Romino as Ireland,
Salley Kisner as Scotland, Linda Radcliffe as England, Melodie Fox as
Sweden, Beverly Leonard as France, Nancy Myers as Denmakr, Mary Ann
Blocker as Russia, Kathy Weirbonski as Poland, Allana Everhart as Germany,
Barbara Williams as Austria, Shannon Sturm as Holland, Janet Kabulski as
Spain, Mary Ann Vingle as India, and Kathy Yann as Italy. Starring
as America is Corki Hostutler.
The final number before teh
finale is "Thus Spake Zarathuatra." Corki Hostutler as
