New York City

May 5 - 8, 2006

The Busy Bee Band & Honeybees have returned from a very successful trip to New York City. On Saturday, the group paraded through the streets of New York before performing in the Plaza at Rockefeller Center. The Busy Bee Band is the first high school band to perform in the Plaza in nearly 30 years. A large crowd gathered in the Plaza as the band presented their 30-minute show. Following the show, the band traveled to the new "Top of the Rock" observation deck inside of Rockefeller Center for a unique view of the city and a photo op.

The group then traveled to the U.S.S. Intrepid for lunch and a performance on the deck of the aircraft carrier. Following a quick return to the hotel, dinner was held in Times Square at Mars 2112 before attending "The Lion King" at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

On Sunday, the group once again traveled into New York and visited the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island before visiting Ground Zero. The band then headed back to Times Square for a quick shopping and viewing opportunity before traveling to dinner at Puglia's. Following dinner, the band headed back to the hotel before traveling home on Monday.
