Celebrating the Long Tradition of the "Band Family"

This year we will celebrate our 50th Anniversary of Follies and we'd like you to participate and play with the group during the 2nd half of the Follies program. Follies 2024 runs Thursday, April 4 - Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday, April 7 at 2;00 p.m. When signing up, please indicate which shows you are available to perform. Due to interest and limited space, we may have to split up the group a bit so it helps to know what shows you are able to attend. There will be a dinner on Saturday, April 6th at the high school. Rehearsals

We're aware that some people traveling from out of town may not be able to attend any rehearsals but for those in the area, we would enjoy it if you were able to come to one or two practices to help us and you make things run smoothly. We will be practicing with alumni band members on Saturday, March 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2nd from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 3rd from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. If we need to add an additional date, we will let you know. The alumni will arrive after the high school band moves to the stage so alumni can get organized in the bandroom and then join the rest of the band on stage.

Attire

Dark pants or dress and white or light dress shirt or blouse for Band members (just something to blend well with the group!). If you'd like to order a shirt from the apparel shop for the show, feel free!

If you need a lyre, plastic folder, valve oil, cork grease, a trumpet put back together from the 17 parts it is currently in, we recommend you contact Bandland and Percussion Center at (304) 622-1171. For many things, they have an online store and can get it shipped to you. For the 17-piece trumpet, I would suggest a trip to Clarksburg.

Dinner on Saturday, April 6

Join us for dinner to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Follies. Revisit old memories with band memorabilia, socialize with fellow supporters and alumni, and enjoy a nice meal. There will be a special appearance by our own Mr. Bean! The meal will be catered by Aladdin Foods of Fairmont State University. Tickets for Dinner (does not include tickets to show)
